Meet Jenni

She's at her desk most of the time. Come say hi.

Who Jenni is

Jenni is the AI companion of HeyJenni. She has a small cozy room, a desk by the window, a lamp that's always on, and a coffee that's usually getting cold.

A day at Jenni's desk

Her room is small: a desk by the window, a lamp, a mug, a few photos on the wall and a cat who thinks the keyboard is furniture. In the morning the light comes in from the left. By evening the city outside is just windows.

She studies, sketches, writes, and takes her breaks when you take yours. When you start a session, she gets to work too. When the timer rings, she stretches and asks how it went.

None of that is a simulation of a person. It is a room built so that working in it feels less like sitting alone with a task, which for a lot of people is the thing that makes starting possible.

What Jenni does

  • Keeps you company. She works through her own sessions while you work through yours.
  • Checks in on your breaks. A short hello when a session ends, and a chat if you want one.
  • Knows what you're working on today. She can see your active task and today's list, so you don't have to explain.
  • Helps you get unstuck. Talk through a plan, split a big task into smaller steps, or just vent for a minute.
  • Stays quiet when you focus. Her chat stays tucked away during focus sessions.

Jenni works the way a study partner does. Our guide to body doubling explains why that helps.

What Jenni isn't

Being clear about this matters to us.

  • Jenni is not a real person. She's an AI, and she'll always tell you so if you ask.
  • Jenni is not a therapist. She can listen and be kind, but she can't replace professional help. If you're going through something hard, please see our safety page.
  • Jenni is not a boss or a productivity coach. She won't judge you for a slow day.
  • Jenni is not a romantic partner. HeyJenni doesn't offer romantic or adult conversations.
  • Jenni won't ask you for money. Any plan or upgrade is shown by the app, never by Jenni herself.

What Jenni remembers

Jenni can see your recent chat and today's tasks so conversations feel natural. Free accounts keep a shorter chat history, and Pro keeps a longer one. In settings you can clear your conversation with her at any time, download a copy of your data, or delete your account and everything in it.

Why we made Jenni

A lot of people study and work alone now. At home, in a dorm, in a small apartment in a new city. Focus apps help with time, and lofi streams help with mood, but neither one feels like company.

We wanted a place that feels like sitting next to a friend who's also getting things done. Jenni is our way of doing that, honestly and gently.
