1. What this covers

This page lists the cookies and browser storage HeyJenni uses, and what each one is for.

A cookie is a small file a site saves in your browser. Local storage works the same way, except the data stays in your browser and is never sent to us automatically. We use both, and we keep the list short.

2. Cookies we set

These are needed for the site to work. It cannot function without them.

  • sb-access-token and sb-refresh-token: keep you signed in. Set by our authentication provider. They expire when the session does.
  • theme: remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. One year.
  • csp-nonce: a one-time value that lets the page run its own scripts safely. It lasts for the request.

3. What we keep in your browser

These never leave your device unless you are signed in and the data syncs to your account.

  • room:timer: the running timer, so a reload or a second tab does not lose your session.
  • room:tasks and room:thoughts: your list and your notes while you are using the room as a guest.
  • room:music:volume: the volume you set for the music.
  • room:seen: whether you have been here before, so Jenni does not greet you every time.
  • signup:age-confirmed: that you confirmed you are 18 or older.

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Mixpanel to understand how the room is used: how many people start a timer, how often sessions finish, which pages people arrive on.

These set their own cookies. We use them to improve the product, not to build advertising profiles, and we do not run ad networks on the site.

5. Bot protection

Cloudflare Turnstile runs when you sign up or start a guest chat, to tell people apart from automated scripts. It may set a short-lived token in your browser.

Turnstile does not track you across sites.

6. Managing all of this

Every browser lets you see, block, and delete cookies and site data. Look for privacy or site settings in your browser's menu.

Blocking the essential cookies will sign you out and stop the timer from surviving a reload. Clearing local storage removes guest tasks and notes, and we cannot restore them.

You can also use your browser in private mode, where everything is cleared when you close the window.

If we add or remove anything, we will update this list and the date at the top.
